_{Caroline doesn’t hate Damon as much as she lets on….what happened is in the past. Damon did take a werewolf bite for her, something he didn’t have to do and it nearly got him killed.If she’s being completely honest, she doesn’t hate him at all…but her ill feelings and resentment weren’t drawn from her personal feelings. Technically not at least. When it comes to the Salvatore brothers, it’s clear she favors Stefan over the eldest Salvatore. So when Elena started showing interest in him, of course Caroline wasn’t happy… But now…she just wants Stefan happy…but she also wants Elena happy, even if that means being with Damon}

_{The subject preferred not to be touched by my Caroline…He’s the bad guy. That’s all he’s supposed to be. He’s the one that came in and practically started everything. He ruined her friends lives…not to mention personally put her own life in danger multiple times…And yet for some reason he still cares about her, in his own Klaus way. Someone capable of love is capable of being saved… Caroline truly believes her own words…but she also believes for Klaus….he has a long way to go. He’s out of town and she should be happy…it’s what they all wanted to begin with but her happiness, it’s not as genuine as she’d care to admit.}

For Caroline she hasn’t exactly had a good track record when it came to relationships. Growing up she couldn’t help but to feel like she was in Elena’s shadow all the time… Like no matter how hard she tried, guys would only see her as Elena’s friend. She was in love with the idea of being loved…which was what made Damon so dangerous. She just wanted to feel wanted and she fell for him hard, but it wasn’t real and it didn’t take much for her to see that… Then came Matt and everyone saw her as his rebound girl and part of her started to believe it was true….Because he would never love her like he did Elena….He couldn’t acccept her as a vampire… But that’s what made Tyler different…For the longest time he was just the jerk jock that happened to be Matt’s friend…. But then he got put into a difficult situation. She was adjusting to be a vampire and he was dealing with being a werewolf. they were just kind of right for each other.

_{There is only one instance when Caroline came dangerously close to flipping the switch. Pain, loss and suffering has been all around her/ But the amount she’s had to go through personally….it hasn’t been nearly as bad as the others. Being there as her Dad refused to become a vampire…watching as he slowly died… It was nearly more than she could take….But she pulled herself through that and kept going… What she couldn’t take…those few moments she thought she had lost her Mom too. Sure they haven’t exactly been the closest but losing her…Caroline wouldn’t be able to take it..}

_{All of the things her best friend said about her, it hurt… Caroline won’t deny that. An apology would have been nice… But at the same time Caroline isn’t going to judge her for what happened. Really more than an apology, Caroline just wanted to hear her friend say she didn’t mean what she had said…That she really didn’t see her as a monster…as a horrible friend and a horrible person. Even with no answer, without hesitation Caroline is there for Elena….willing to do anything for her. So let’s just say she’s tired of people judging her friend for what happened when she was lacking her humanity}

_{Finally they did it, graduation. A day that many of them shouldn’t have lived to see…It summer, everythings changing some for the good and others… Well Caroline Forbes is trying to deal with it all as best as she can. Put on a brave face, smile when anyone is around… But alone, there’s no hiding…no lying to herself about how lonely she really is. Stefan left without a word, not even a goodbye… She called him a couple times, left him a few messages but only getting his voice mail.. she knew that he needed space. Then there’s Matt and Bonnie…they had both up and left town for the summer. Bonnie with her Mom and Matt with Rebekah. Both busy, neither answering their phones or calling her back… Tyler, she hasn’t heard from him since prom. Good or bad…that’s still to be determined. He just hadn’t gotten her message, that’s what she’s been telling herself. Until we find a way, well she had…and she was still here in Mystic Falls alone. Waiting for him to come home, waiting for something part of her thinks may never happen}

Hell, he doubted that she even remembered that night.}

_{Caroline turned at the sound of his voice, raising an eyebrow…clearly no idea what he was talking about. “What’s that? Are you sure you’re not drunk now?” She questioned rolling her eyes, fighting back the smile that wanted to form. Her lips parted, with plenty more to say but she was taken back when a piece of paper was practically shoved in her face…Well actually it was a photo, she came to realize after a moment. “Wait what…give me that.” She snapped, snatching the photo from his grasp. “Where did you even get this…what is this?”}

Hearing her ask what the point would be, Damon swallowed hard as his grip tightened against the counter. The point would be putting him at ease, like she always did. He was always going to be THIS person, doubting everything because after going 145 years it was the hardest thing he’s ever done to believe that someone could care about him. And it was like she was proving his terrible thoughts. He opened his mouth to say all of that but he didn’t feel a word escape him. “Go home Caroline.” he says simply yet cold as he pours himself another glass, slowly making his way over to the couch with a completely blank face showing absolutely nothing as he gulped down his drink.

_{Go home….was all his response had been… What was she supposed to say that. “Fine…” Caroline replied with a sigh, taking a few steps back. “But you know I can’t remember the last time I saw Elena like this… If her feelings weren’t real she wouldn’t be this upset. So if I were you, I’d do something before I really did mess things up…:” was all she said before she was gone.}

Hearing her say she was at the Lockwood mansion, Damon burrowed his eyebrows as he took a large gulp. Of course, the one place he couldn’t go into. She must have done this on purpose, knowing at one point he would try and find her. As she continued about her not being mad, Damon almost burst into laughter. He remembered clear as day the words she said to him through texts….she was mad. Going silent for a good few minutes, Damon decided to down the rest of the drink before slamming it down against the counter. “She couldn’t even say it..” he murmurs under his breath coldly before taking a almost pained breath in, holding both of his hands on the counter as his grip tightened and he dropped his head. “She couldn’t say the words..” he adds before trailing off a moment. “I knew this would happen. I knew I would say something…and she would realize what a mistake she made.” he mumbles before hitting the counter hard with his fist.

_{“Maybe you know how she felt if one of you sucked it up and went to see the other….” Caroline answered, letting out asleep breath…. She wanted to fix this…as against the relationship as she once was. She honestly hated to see her best friend this upset and Damon like this wasn’t exactly a pleasure to be around either. “What would be the point of saying it, you brought up the sirebond right? If she thinks you wouldn’t believe her anyway what would be the point….” Caroline tried her best to explain where Elena was coming from, at least from what her friend had told her.}
